Is Ghaziosmanpasa district safe to live in with a family?

Hi Shabut,

In general, crime rates in Turkey are low and it is a safe country, and Istanbul a safe city. Still, for a family, you must be trying to find the right neighbourhood to settle in? Gaziosmanpaşa has been a working-class district and it seems hasn't had the best of reputations, regarding crime and safety, but there have been some urban renewal projects to improve the area. I am not speaking from personal experience, so I hope someone on this forum from Istanbul can reach out and give more advice, but for a brief on security issues in the country, I'd suggest this page on Safety in Turkey

There are a handful of great neighbourhoods in Istanbul. Have a read of Areas and Suburbs in Istanbul if you haven't already. It can give you a sense of what some other areas are like. Is there anything in particular that draws your attention to Gaziosmanpaşa as a district to live in with a family?
