Hi everyone. I would like to work in the Netherlands but want to know what is the best route to secure employment and get a work permit? Are there any recommended job portals or recruitment agencies? I have also been confused about processes for getting visas and work permits, which type of entry permit I must get and how to do so. Any input and thoughts are appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Smith, the Netherlands offers a host of work and lifestyle opportunities to expats, and to start your search, I recommend reading our essential overview Working in the Netherlands. What field of work are you in and what sort of job are you looking for? The best place to start your search as an expat job seeker is online. Common portals such as LinkedIn, Indeed and Glassdoor are popularly used in the Netherlands and provide ways to begin networking. Are you focusing your search on a particular city or town, such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam or The Hague?

Which visa and work permit you apply for and get will depend on things such as your nationality and how long you plan on staying in the country. Are you an EU citizen or from elsewhere? The Expat Arrivals page on Visas for the Netherlands provides details on how to get a visa or work permit as well as key immigration processes and requirements.

I hope this helps!

Thank you! It does help. I am not an EU citizen, so I will need to apply for a visa. I hope to secure a job and then move over to the Netherlands for a period of time. I found the page on Work Permits for the Netherlands particularly helpful!
