Can anyone give advice on how the living cost in Oslo relates to the living cost in Switzerland?

My partner and I will move to Oslo because I got a job in a higher position there; nevertheless, the salary is about 10'000 CHF / 86'000 NOK lower than my current Swiss salary. We are a little bit worried about the loss of our current quality of life.

Hi there

The cost of living comparison will likely depend on where in Switzerland you are currently living. In 2018, the Mercer Cost of Living Survey ranked Zurich as the third most expensive city in the world, while Oslo was only the 47th most expensive.

Have a look at our guide to the cost of living in Norway and the cost of living in Switzerland for a detailed breakdown of the different costs associated with living in each country. When are you planning to move?

Hope this helps!
