Dear all,
So my fiancée and I are getting married in October in Amsterdam, she is a Dutch native and as soon as we get married I will basically have more or less the same right that she has. We fell in love with Nice last year during our vacation there our walk on the Promenade des Anglais and journey in the city was breathtaking. We, therefore, decided since then to move there after our wedding.
So I have several questions:
1. Can I work with a recepissé (receipt that I have applied for a residency permit) while waiting for my carte de sejour (residency permit)?
2.We are looking for jobs online before moving down there, I speak 5 languages and she is a beautician will that be hard to find a job in October?
3.But our priority is to get a long term apartment/studio for at least 6 months, we are both aware that in order to get an apartment we need a job but I have my sister that lives in Paris can she be my guarantee to get a house. We can also provide 10 months caution as proof of fund.
Can anybody help us please.

Firstly, congrats on the upcoming wedding!
What nationality are you? Is this your first application for a French residency visa, or are you renewing your visa?

To answer your questions in order:
1) If you're renewing your visa, then you should be able to work with a recepissé. If this is your first application, then you won't be able to work until you receive your residency visa.
2) This is speculation on my part, but considering your language proficiencies, I feel that you're well positioned to find a job in the tourism industry in Nice. I'm not sure about the beauty industry there. My impression is that there should be a job or two around, especially considering Nice's 'glossy' image.
3) Not sure, might be up to the landlord. Your wife may be able to get a job before October, which would certainly help.
There's a lot of contradictory information about your second question, the one regarding working on a recepissé. It might be best to speak to an immigration specialist.

I am from Mauritius and this is my first application for "carte de sejour".
We are actually looking first for an apartment the try to get a job specially her because when I will submit my demand she needs to have a job and a residential address.
I am actually looking online to see if there is any blog or forum regarding legal advices for immigration process and of course if we find something worth paying we will go ahead to make sure i have a solid dossier to submit.
Do you know any immigration specialist or maybe contacts that have been recently through more or less what i am going through now?
