ISS International School represents more than 30 different nationalities in a student body of about 600 students, spread across two campuses. The school is committed to providing a holistic, multicultural learning environment which values the unique contribution of individual students. Their students are nurtured to accept and thrive in a highly diverse environment, mirroring what they will expect as they progress on their journey from school, to university to the workforce.
The inclusive learning environment at ISS is highly differentiated, ensuring that each student is supported optimally, enriching each student's learning. Based on their knowledge of the strengths or weaknesses of each student, ISS teachers plan academic plans for each student to cater to the needs of each student. This means that there is a lot more planning required from teachers but the results have proven to be successful and the acceleration in their learning is obvious. Weaker students are made to feel worthwhile, whilst the talented or gifted students are stretched and given opportunities to do more.
ISS is the only school in Singapore to completely specialise in and follow the entire International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum from the Early Years to Grade 12 and also offers a comprehensive English as a Second Language programme. ISS emphasises all-round development; its extra-curricular programme includes a strong community service component and a wide range of activities from archery to martial arts, as well as several performing music groups.
What the school says
“Our mission is to provide a multicultural educational environment for our students in which they achieve academic success, personal growth and become socially responsible and active global citizens with an appreciation of learning as a life-long process. We accomplish this through an international and dynamic curriculum delivered by an enthusiastic and experienced faculty and staff in partnership with students, parents and guardians, in a caring and supportive community.”
The school follows the International Baccalaureate curriculum, including the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and the IB Diploma Programme. The IB curriculum aims to develop internationally minded students.
Fees for the 2023/2024 academic year range from SGD 29,972 a year in Kindergarten up to SGD 49,526 in Grade 12. Fees are payable in two instalments before the start of each of the two semesters. There is also a placement test fee of SGD 505, payable upon application, and a once-off enrolment fee of SGD 3,633, payable on acceptance of an offered place at the school.
From the head of school
“For over thirty years, ISS has been developing future global leaders through a sound, vigorous and challenging education. ISS is truly a unique school, with students from over 30 different countries, and no single dominant group. As a result, our students feel comfortable in being who they are, and in being proud representatives of their respective cultures.”
